Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy 2013 Contest Results |
Master R wins EC LeatherSIR; boy Dominic wins EC Leatherboy The Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy 2013 contest weekend ran Thursday, March 28 through Sunday, March 31 (the Easter long weekend) in Toronto, Ontario. The Presenting Sponsor of ECLSb 2013 was Steamworks, the official bathhouse of Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy. The Major Sponsor was Priape. ECLSb 2013 weekend kicked off with sex and sweat at the Squeal leather party held Thursday night at Steamworks. This year organizers staged a new format for the official meet and greet with contestants, judges and event attendees; the Changing Of The Guard reception was held Friday afternoon at Club120 (formerly Goodhandy’s) and featured a keynote speech by Sir Marc Paquet-Decker, from Toronto. Friday night was a casual, social bar night at Black Eagle Toronto. The ECLSb Contest took place Saturday afternoon at Club120, and was followed later that night by Spearhead’s annual Fantasy Ball, which was the official ECLSb Victory Party, held at the club Erotica. Saturday night survivors were up in time to join the new ECLSb titleholders at the Sunday Victory Brunch at the Churchmouse & Firkin. The weekend wrapped up with Rough House, the popular Sunday afternoon BDSM dungeon party held regularly by ECLSb organizers at Club120. The Saturday contest also included the presentation of the 2013 ECLSb Community Builder Awards. Awards were presented to Todd Klinck and Mandy Goodhandy, founders of Club120 (formerly Goodhandy’s), for their dedicated service in creating and providing a sex-positive social space serving the community, and to Sir Marc Paquet-Decker for his leadership in the community in the areas of education, mentoring, and preservation of family leather culture. The panel of judges for the ECLSb 2013 contests included: Jack Duke, International LeatherSIR 2012, from Dallas, Texas, who served as head judge; boy Alex, Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2012, from Kingston, Ontario; and from Toronto, Ontario, Tony Palazzo, International LeatherSIR 2009, Sir Marc Paquet-Decker, and boy Farrell. Each contest weekend, ECLSb depends on a roster of talented and dedicated volunteers. Returning as contest staff this year were five Toronto leather people: boy Alex Dunlop, Bootblack Toronto 2006, as Tally Master; Pup Kalen as Judge’s boy; Dan Madden as Den Daddy; Fenn, Mr International Rubber 2010, as Stage Manager; and, Gloria McIsaac, as Box Office Manager. Returning as contest emcee for the seventh year was Tom Stice, International slave 1995 and Southeast Mr Drummer 1998, of Chicago (IL). The contest weekend marked the official step down by Thug Rocco, Eastern Canada LeatherSIR 2012 and boy alex, Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2012. Thug Rocco was unable to attend due to professional commitments but delivered a rousing and entertaining step down message by video. LeatherSIR/Leatherboy are “player’s titles” — erotic titles representing the sexual side of gay leather men. The primary goal of ECLSb is networking and outreach, to help educate the community about leather men, our erotic expression, traditions and history – and of course, BDSM and hot leather sex! ECLSb contestants were judged in four categories: Interview; Speech & Image; Physique; and Fantasy Scene. The contestant’s interview portion took place in private with the judges on Friday; the three remaining categories took place on stage during the contest on Saturday. The leather sex Fantasy Scene portion of the contest is one thing that sets ECLSb apart from many other contests styled after International Mr. Leather or Mid-Atlantic Leather formats. In past years ECLSb contestants were required to incorporate a specific regional theme into their fantasy scene; that requirement was dropped this year and contestants may choose any form of BDMS or leather sex on which to base their fantasy scene.
